Hush Little Baby Don’t You Cry
One of my neighbors who live about two doors down the hallway recently gave birth to a healthy baby boy. And when I say healthy, I mean his lungs are very strong. I hear him crying almost all day and, not to mention, almost all night, too. Don’t get me wrong. I love babies but this ‘crying episodes’ is not good for anyone, specially for me. I decided to do something about it.
Late afternoon yesterday, when I heard the baby crying again (for the nth time), I marched down my neighbor’s apartment and knocked on the door. As the crying became louder (hinting that the mother is nearing the door), I took out the softest and most luxurious organic baby bedding I could find. As she opened the door, I showed her the bedding, wrapped it around the baby, and waited. After a few seconds, the baby stopped crying. I nodded at the mother and went back to my own apartment. For the first time in a month, I was able to sleep soundly all night.
Crib Bedding Sets
Infants spend a great deal of their time sleeping and being on their backs. That is why it is essential that babies have an excellent bed that would keep them safe and comfy. In his book “Baby and Child Care,” parenting expert Dr. Benjamin Spock confirms that for sleeping, a baby needs something with sides to keep him or her from rolling out, and something soft but firm in the bottom. Most parents, he says, start with a crib with a bumper pad to go all around the inside, which is good. Correspondingly, Spock recommends a mattress made of foam rubber and preferably in an airtight casing so as not to cause allergy to the child.
You can supplement your infant’s place of sleep with baby bedding sets to make it cozier. Choose from specialized sheets, quilts and mattress pads, which are mostly in white and cream. Waterproof quilts and crib pads are both lovable and practical accessories that will keep babies and mattresses dry and put smiles on the faces of moms and dads. Parents will also like the crib mattress pad that protects against stains. Additionally, you can cover your infant in soft sleepers and blankets to keep them warm while they dream.
Buy Bedding For Baby Gifts
One of the most practical gifts you can give to a baby’s christening or a baby shower is crib bedding. But first, know how much you can afford to spend. If a crib bedding set falls a little over your budget, you still have other options. For one is to buy a piece of crib bedding, such as the diaper table changing pad, instead of an entire set. Another way is to find another guest and go in together on the price.
Before you shop for crib bedding, make sure you have some idea of what the parents want their nursery to look like. If they are going for a ballerina look, then you won’t have a mistake of giving baby crib sets with ladybugs or teddy bears on it. You may also consider dropping by for a visit and check on the progress of the nursery yourself before making the decision. If not, ask someone who knows the parents and their nursery plans well for advice. You can also find out from using the couple’s gift list, if they have created one.
