The right comforter can keep you cool in the summer but warm in the winter. A good quality down comforter is a natural insulator. Don’t judge one by its weight because quality is more important than quantity. The price of a comforter is determined by what kind of down is used, not by how heavy or light it is.

Prolong the life of your down comforters by using it with a duvet cover. The cover will help protect the down from dirt and impurities. A duvet cover will also allow you to easily change the style and colors in your bedroom any time you wish. When buying a comforter, check the warranty as it can range from a year to a lifetime.

The textile industry has a standard that makes it clear that thread count should be based on threads, not on individual strands or plies within a thread. When it comes to bedding, the thing to remember is that the higher a sheet’s thread count, the higher its quality is. Of course, one of the best bedding are those that come with 1500 thread count sheets.

Invest in sheet sets that will last you for years. Look for quality and don’t just think about the price. Make sure you buy bedding and sheet sets from trusted merchants. If taken cared of properly, sheet sets can survive for as long as 20 years or more.

Redecorating a Teen’s Room

Teens develop tastes different from that of their childhood. They would usually request their rooms redecorated to make it more updated and grownup-looking. Work with your teen when revamping her room’s decorations. Let her choose the kind of teen bedding she wants as well as the furniture that could go with it.

If you feel that the changes are too much, try to reach a compromise. Remember that it’s her room even if it’s your house. It is she who would stay in it longer than you and she would like it to be somewhere she would be most comfortable in. By working with her, you might even create good memories and bonding moments with your daughter.
