Fit for a Queen
A fitted bedspread is a type of bed covering that is designed to fit a specific bed size. A queen bedspread is a fitted bedspread designed specifically for a queen sized bed. Queen sized beds are not as large as king sized beds, but are larger than double or twin beds. The typical measurement for the dimensions of queen sized mattresses and box springs are roughly 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. Double beds typically measure 54.5 inches wide and 75 inches long.
Twin beds are sized for only one person, and usually measure around 39 inches in width and 75 inches in length. When measuring for a fitted bedspread, it is very important to measure the thickness of the bedding as well as the surface dimensions. A traditional fitted bedspread is usually one large piece, sized to cover both the bed and the pillows. The bedspread should cover the bed and sides all the way down to the floor.
