What is the Acceptable Thread Count
If cotton is the best material that can be used in making bed sheets, Egyptian cotton fiber is the best thread that can be used in making cotton fiber. Egyptian cotton fibers are the longest there is, making it the softest and most durable material for making sheets. Egyptian sheets are made of Egyptian fiber; it must be the softest and most durable bedding available. It should be what we should look for when buying sheets. But that is not the only thing to be considered.
There is also the matter of thread count. This is the number of threads per inch in both directions. Fabrics with higher thread count feel more luxurious. For good wear and to get the softest feel, the suggested thread count should be above 250 but no lower than 175. Be sure to check your labels and check if it is anywhere near this number.
Sleep Right
Futon is the expression that Americans use to refer to the traditional Japanese bedding system. The Japanese use the word “shikibuton”, which literally means mattress. The American concept of futon includes either the mattress, or the convertible furniture it sits upon, or both. You can now purchase a foam futon full mattress at department stores and you can also order them online through the Internet.
Futon mattresses, just like beds, come in multiple sizes and are designed for multiple uses, such as the ottoman mattress and the coil futon mattress. A full size futon mattress is 54 inches wide and 75 inches long and can often sleep two people. The length of the full size futon mattress is similar to a twin bed, but is much wider and thus provides extra space. A full size futon mattress will often fulfill all your needs at a relatively lower price.
Better Qualities of Bamboo Fibers
You wouldn’t know they are made of bamboo fibers just by looking at them. Bamboo sheets look just like beddings made of cotton and other materials. They are just as soft as cotton and as smooth as silk. Like cotton and silk, they also come in pastel or vibrant colors to cater to every taste. And yet they have qualities that make them better than other fabrics.
Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial. It kills bacteria, fungus and microbes. These qualities are carried over to products made out of the bamboo fiber. Bamboo sheets are antimicrobial and odor free. They also wick moisture from the skin making them evaporate into the air. This keeps a sweaty person drier and more comfortable when he wakes up.
