The bedroom is the one place when you can let go of your inhibitions and show your true self. We can pretty much do anything inside our own bedrooms, and create it into the haven we have always wanted it to be. It should show our true personalities and the character we are. Our bedroom allows us not only to provide that much needed rest and relaxation, but also allows us to express ourselves by the way we decorate it.

If you want to transform your bedroom into one funky room, then get yourself some animal print bedding. Our beds are the focal point of our rooms, and with animal print beddings we can transform our boring bedrooms into one great space! You need not settle for a room with neutral colored tones in walls and solid colored furniture. Animal print is the perfect thing when you would want a funky room for yourself!

Fabric Goods

Deep pocket sheets are fitted bed sheets that are designed to fit snugly on mattresses that are thicker than standard designs. These bedding sheets are made with a deeper pocket at each corner of the sheet. Once considered a specialty item, deep pocket bed linens are now available in most retail outlets, including some discount stores. These bed linens are available in a wide range of colors, prints, and fabrics. For cooler seasons, flannel sheets are ideal to keep the bed warm even when the temperature drops.

Cotton and satin deep pocket bed linens work well during the warmer climate, since these fabrics provide a light covering at night while still allowing the material to breathe. One of the best ways to determine if you need deep pocket sheets is to measure the area that the sheet must cover in order to allow the fitted pockets to tuck comfortably under the mattress corners. Most sets of bed linens available today include the finished measurements of both the flat and fitted sheets.

Warmth Comfort Without Hurting the Environment

On cold winter nights, there is nothing more comforting than the warmth of duvets and comforters. The warmer they are the better. But we also want them to be light and fluffy. The difference will be dictated by the materials used to fill them. Some of the materials used are cotton or polyester batting and goose down and feathers.

In choosing the filling materials used in comforters we have to consider their effect on the environment. Eco-friendly duvets are made of materials that are certified organic. These are free of synthetic and toxic chemicals. With eco-friendly duvets and other beddings, you can enjoy inviting softness without worrying about allergic reactions on the skin. You can enjoy comforting warmth without feeling guilty about harming the environment.

My husband and I love buying sheets and comforters for our bed. It’s one of our bonding activities ever since we got married. We have tried all brands and styles and we can say that we are both experts on sheets and comforters shopping. Even our friends ask for our advice when they plan to buy one.

Anyway, our favorite kind of sheets is duvet covers. They are very soft and you will surely feel like you are sleeping on cotton. We bought two sets of king duvet covers for our bed. It is the most frequent cover that we use. It surely gives us maximum comfort for two.

Basketball Fever

I am one of those guys that are definitely hooked on basketball. This sport is my life, having first been taught the basics by my father. I eventually got hooked and was soon on the varsity team of my school. I got on some great scholarship because of this sport. But after an injury on my left kneecap it wasn’t long before my doctor advised me to stop playing for good.

But despite the turnout, I still have a deep passion for the sport. I would always score some tickets to watch my home team, and get to shoot some hoops with friends every once in a while. I collect absolutely everything related to NBA, including jerseys, cups and glasses, magnets and bottle openers. My bedroom is also infested with the basketball fever, with NBA bedding and pillows, and a rug to boot. Basketball will always be part of my life, and no doctor can stop me from my passion for the sport.

Cute Pink Sheets

My daughter recently had her bedroom interior redecorated. She doesn’t really care about the look of her room but I insisted that she needed a change in her room. That’s why I hired my sister, an interior designer, to change everything. She’s still a little girl but I want her walls to become ready when she reaches her teenage years.

Her walls used to have fairies and other drawings on it. I made my sister paint it with plain white and pink. My daughter, surprisingly, liked it. We then gave it a sign that the room is owned by a little girl by buying little girls bedding sets that had designs and colors meant for girls her age. The room is now finished and she told me that she liked it better than the old one.

Living in the city can be much more convenient when you have everything you need within reach. The mall, your office and the fitness gym only blocks away, you are thankful that you have life’s conveniences whenever you need it. With the increasing prices of these spaces, you are left with nothing but having to settle for a cramped apartment that will fit in your working budget.

Good Enough for Two

My husband and I used to have a regular-sized bed for two people. Back then, we would always convince ourselves that the size fitted the two of us perfectly. But as the years passed by, I developed back aches and so did he. We finally came into the conclusion that we needed a new bed.

We recently bought a king-sized bed and it really dawned on us that we should have bought it a long time ago. Though we also had to change all our sheets along the process it’s perfectly fine. I bought lots of king size bed comforters in different designs and colors and they really match our new bed. We can now finally sleep comfortably every night!

Sleep like Royalty

Egyptian cotton sheets are the standard when it comes to high quality bedding. It is widely considered as the “king of all cottons” because of its luxurious feel and durability. These luxury bedding sheets consists of very breathable fabric and also resists piling, since the cotton plants that are used to make it do not produce a lot of lint. Even if new Egyptian cotton sheets may start out as a little coarse, they will soon become softer with each washing.

Egyptian cotton sheets are considered to be some of the finest sheets available today. Because these sheets can be made with very high thread counts, they tend to sell for prices that are much higher than regular cotton sheets. It is not uncommon to pay well over $100 US dollars for an Egyptian cotton sheet set. This high price will definitely be worth it in the long run because of how long these sheets will last. You can expect Egyptian cotton sheets to last for forty to fifty years, or even more.

My Elegant Room

Wednesday, September 7, 2011
posted by ComfortInMyBed 10:59 AM

One of the things that I value most in my busy life is having the time to get some sleep. Having to worry about my business, I am on call anytime and would work long hours at the office. Having only little time to relax, coming home to an elegant bedroom is one of the few things I am most thankful for. After all, I only have a few hours left until the next day, so the sleep must be worthwhile and enjoyable.

My queen size bed allows me to roll away, spacious and clean at all times. I only make use of 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets for my bed, and anyone who has made use of these can attest to the difference from the normal sheets you can buy off in any store. A few soft pillows and a night lamp that serve as dim illumination, and I’m off for that short and well-deserved dozing off. My elegant room is one of the places that provide me that respite, away from the stresses that I am faced with.
